Baked Cabbage

Most of us are looking for ways to prepare healthy foods in an easy and delicious way, yet most of us don’t explore the wonderful world of cabbage. Roasting it until mostly crispy with a handful of garlic, salt, and pepper is a sure fire way to please the crowd but also a great way to prepare a side dish that’s health conscious.

All you really need to do is peel the outer layer of the cabbage, cut it the head in half, slice vertically while avoiding the stem, toss with a few ingredients and sick in the oven for about 30-40 minutes.

This is great as a side dish, snack, or even full mean! I’ll admit that there was time in my life where I was eating a head of baked cabbage for dinner every night! It’s just so good and adding a drizzle or two of balsamic vinegar really adds a nice tangy to compliment the strong flavor of the cabbage.

1 large head green cabbage
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste

Cut head of cabbage in half, then slice each half into ½ in pieces, avoiding the core.
Toss in large bowl with garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper, until evenly coated.
Spread out on a baking sheet and place in oven that has been preheated 400 degrees.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring twice.
Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, if desired.
